Bengali Vegetable Chop

There are some dishes which I really miss in Bangalore.  These might not be something very exotic.  Some of them are very regular- roadside ones! Vegetable chop is one such snack. It looks tough to prepare so I never quite paid any heed to learn the recipe.
But I guess my cravings surpassed my laziness and I quickly learned the recipe.  To my surprise,  it came out really tasty.
Here goes the recipe:


INGREDIENTS
2 large carrots grated
1 beetroot grated
Half cup cabbage grated
2 Potatoes boiled and mashed
4 cloves garlic paste
Half inch ginger grated
Handful of groundnuts fried
2 small green chillies chopped
8 rusk biscuits finely powdered
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
Refined oil 1 cup
Sugar 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste
A pinch of black salt


Procedure:
Heat 2 teaspoon oil on a fry pan. Add garlic,  ginger and chilled and fry for a minute. Then add all the vegetables except potato and stir for a min. Cover and cook for 7-8 minutes until veggies become tender. Now add the potatoes,  salt,  sugar and groundnuts and mix nicely. Remove from flame,  cool and give sausage like shape to the chops.
On a bowl mix water and flour to a egg like consistency. On another plate lay the powdered biscuits.
Heat oil for deep fry on a fry pan. Dip a chop in the flour mixture and then coat it with biscuit powder by rolling it over the plate. Simmer the fry pan.  Now slowly fry the chop until brown. Repeat for the remaining chops.
Serve hot with tomato sauce and sprinkle some black salt.
